Derivatives will also allow investors to swap property sector returns from the NPI. These derivatives will let investors invest in real estate, hedge real estate risk, and rebalance portfolios through property type swaps in ways not previously possible. These risk management techniques put commercial real estate on more of a par with financial assets like stocks.
